IT has been a long time since Jordan Silk has woven his batting class for Tasmania but his return to form has helped the Tigers into a strong position. Seven games into his Sheffield Shield career Silk had four first-class centuries. Four years and 30 games later he brought up his fifth and he was delighted. It was arguably his best ton, overcoming very difficult conditions in the first session.

“It has been a long time and it’s a bit of relief. The new coaching staff have given me a lot of confidence and have backed me, so it was good to repay them for their faith in me, said Silk.”

Now in his 37th game Silk is showing why he was considered a future Australian player early in his career. His innings showed great maturity, with the right hander getting through the tough first session and making the most of a tiring bowling attack in the second.
