Iconic weatherman Tim Bailey has been a mainstay on Aussie TV screens for decades, and now he’s on our airwaves.

This week, the TV icon began his new role with Nine Radio’s 2GB, presenting weather updates during the network’s daily shows Ben Fordham Live and Drive with Jim Wilson.

Speaking this week on Fordham’s show, Tim recalled the moment he was offered the new role following his exit from longtime employer Channel 10.

“Before I had a chance to fall down a bloke by the name of Benny Fordham picked me up. I am proud, pumped and privileged to be part of the Nine Radio family,” said Tim.

Tim is already enjoying one advantage of no longer appearing on screen in the evenings.

“It’s a beautiful blue one in the greatest city in the world,” he declared, giving a quick Sydney weather update. “I don’t have to go on TV tonight, so I’m going to the beach!”
